Specific batches of Ben’s Original Ready Rice sold nationwide could contain small stones that could cause injuries if consumed.
WASHINGTON — Ben’s Original is recalling select ready-to-eat rice products sold at major retailers nationwide due to possible contamination with small stones that could cause injuries if consumed.
The voluntary recall affects specific batches of Ben’s Original Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice products. The company said small, naturally occurring stones from rice farms may be present in the packages.
The stones pose a risk of oral or digestive tract injuries if swallowed, according to the recall notice published by the Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday. The company said it is working to remove affected products from store shelves.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported.
Recalled Ben’s Original Ready Rice products
The recall is limited to products with specific batch codes and “best by” dates printed on the bottom seal of the package back. Affected items were sold at HEB, Target, Amazon, United Markets and Piggly Wiggly stores, though other retailers may have received the products through distributors between August and September.
Recalled products include:
Long Grain White Rice: Batch codes 533ELGRV22 and 534ALGRV22, best by date 8/2026, sold at HEB.
