BART riders face delays, service impacts Monday

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — BART delays and limited service advisories cropped up Monday morning as the transit agency said there was an equipment problem with the track in the Transbay Tube. Red and Green line services were impacted, and the San Francisco line experienced 20-minute delays before the Bay Area Rapid Transit District said the problem was fixed at 6:12 a.m.

The equipment problem was first announced just before 5:30 a.m.

Red Line service remains down at this time. In an advisory, BART said, “For Millbrae take the shuttle train between SFO and Millbrae and transfer to/from the Yellow line (Antioch-SFO). Millbrae riders from Richmond take the Orange/Berryessa train and transfer at MacArthur to the Yellow/SFO train.”

Green Line service, which was earlier halted amid the disruption, has since resumed.

One week ago, on Oct. 20, morning commuters on BART faced major delays systemwide as trains were single-tracking through the Transbay Tube due to an obstruction. Lines on that day were reestablished by 11 a.m.
