SCSO said deputies responded to reports of 40-year-old Bahader Dheer threatening to kill his wife, family and dog, just before 7:30 p.m. in the 5100 block of Antler Run Place.

The family was able to safely evacuate, and deputies established a perimeter. Dheer was called to surrender, but he refused, SCSO said.

The sheriff’s SWAT Team responded with armored vehicles, K9s, drones, the Rook, Command Bus and other “military equipment.”

Deputies cleared the home around 1 a.m. on Sunday and found the suspect hiding in a neighbor’s backyard.

According to the sheriff’s office, Dheer refused to surrender and was apprehended by Sheriff’s K9 Dax.

The suspect was treated at a local hospital before being booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

SCSO said he is being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
