Red Bull Half Court is back, inviting the top ballers for an epic 3-on-3 streetball showdown. This year, the competition promises to be fiercer than ever as players from Luzon to Mindanao battle it out in the regional qualifiers held in Manila, Cebu, and Davao. The winners will secure a coveted spot in the world finals set to take place in New York City, the mecca of streetball.
The games will adhere to FIBA rules, with the first round adopting a pool play style and subsequent rounds following a knockout format. What sets Red Bull Half Court apart is its unique twist: the Own the Court Score, awarded to the team in each group with the highest cumulative points. Teams with the highest scores will advance to the National Finals.
Eric Altamirano, Red Bull Half Court Tournament Commissioner, expressed excitement about the tournament’s expansion, particularly with the inclusion of qualifiers in Davao. The tournament is open to both men and women aged 18 and above, with each team comprising four players, including one reserve or backup.
Registration for the Cebu, Manila, and Davao qualifiers opens on February 16. The qualifying rounds and other events leading up to the World Finals are scheduled as follows:
- February 16: Registration opens for Cebu, Manila, and Davao Qualifiers
- March 9: Cebu Qualifiers
- April 6: Davao Qualifiers
- April 13: Manila Qualifiers
- April 27: National Finals Tournament
- October: World Finals in New York City
