Authorities are searching for Keyante Aaron Reed, 19, wanted for the murder of Markesse W. Owens in Riverbank.
STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — Authorities are searching for a man in connection with a homicide in Riverbank. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office identified Keyante Aaron Reed, 19, as the individual wanted in the case.
Reed is described as a Black male, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing 177 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Markesse W. Owens, was found with gunshot wounds on September 19, around 4:00 p.m.
Deputies responded to a shooting in the 6100 block of Claus Road in Riverbank. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, Owens died from his injuries at the scene.
During the investigation, deputies secured the residence associated with Owens and found two juveniles inside the home. Both children were unharmed and safely removed from the location.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit were dispatched to investigate and have since issued a murder warrant for Reed, whose current whereabouts remain unknown.
