We were delighted to hear the news of Atle Pettersen returning to Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix this year. The Norwegian heartthrob who previously competed in the contest with World On Fire – a personal favourite of ours – returns with the stellar Masterpiece which changes his sound up slightly.

On the new track Atle co-writes with Andreas Johansson and Hanna Dorothy Bristow, with production also from Andreas. The track, released through Universal Music Norway, has a Eurovision ready sound, starting with Atle’s soft emotive vocal before building against a rousing piano-driven melody. As the chorus is unveiled, Atle unveils one of his most impressive vocal performances yet, whilst building percussion and strings give Masterpiece an epic sound that will undeniably translate into a thrilling live performance at Saturday’s third Melodi Grand Prix semi-final.

Atle will be competing alongside artists such as Stig Van Eijk and Skrellex. We’ll have our fingers crossed that he will be earning a place in the grand finale with Ulrikke. Good luck!

You can connect with Atle on his InstagramTwitter and Facebook.
