The MLB announced next season’s new jerseys on Sunday, the final day of the team’s first season playing at Sutter Health Park.
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics will wear jerseys displaying “Sacramento” in 2026.
The announcement came Sunday on the players’ final day of their first season playing at Sutter Health Park. The team is expected to play at least two more seasons at the field, which is actually located in West Sacramento, before they move to Las Vegas.
“Sacramento has welcomed the Athletics with incredible passion and support,” said A’s President Marc Badain. “The new ‘Sacramento’ jersey is our way of recognizing that support and saying thank you to the fans, businesses and community leaders who helped bring Major League Baseball to town.”
New jerseys will feature “Sacramento” in green writing across the chest and a green A’s logo on the left sleeve to pay homage to their new home, per the MLB.
The Athletics plan to wear the jerseys for every Saturday home game next season as part of “Sacramento Saturdays,” the league said. Players also have the option to wear them on other days of the week at home or on the road.
“Similarly designed to their current gold jerseys, which feature green ‘A’s’ chest insignia, the updated golds will provide a second alternate uniform along with the kelly green jerseys to accompany the traditional home whites and road grays,” the MLB wrote in its news release.
Fans at Friday night’s game against the Royals received a green crewneck sweater featuring the same “Sacramento” lettering that will appear on the 2026 jerseys, the team said.
Fans at the game April 4, 2026, against the Astros will receive a replica jersey, and the jersey will be available in the team store and online as part of the official A’s apparel lineup.
Players previously commemorated the capital region with a sleeve patch featuring the Tower Bridge behind Sutter Health Park in the right field with “Sacramento” displayed in writing.
The Athletics play the Kansas City Royals at home for their final game this season starting 12:05 p.m. Sunday.
The Athletics’ temporary stay in Yolo County was prompted by the Oakland Coliseum’s lease expiration in 2024.
