So, now that Argentina have topped Group J, who could their next opponents become on the way to the World Cup final?

July 3rd vs Cape Verde
After dealing with their opposition in Group J and finishing first in the table over Algeria, Austria, and Jordan, they faced off against the tournament’s surprise package Cape Verde in the round of 32. Who’d have thought this would be one of the games of the tournament? Cape Verde pushed Argentina all the way, with the South Americans needing an extra time winner to progress.

As we reach the semi-finals, Argentina will see their old adversaries England. July 19th vs Spain
Now for the final. Argentina have repeated the feat they achieved in 2022 and gone all the way, battling their way through each stage from the groups to the knockouts. Who are they most likely to play you might ask?
For Argentina to become only the second ever team to win back-to-back World Cups, they’re going to have to beat the reigning Euro champions, Spain.
The 2026 World Cup represents a chance for Argentina to win four international trophies in a row, following back-to-back Copa America success, but Spain are tough opponents.
