In the wake of Storm Helene’s devastating flooding in North Carolina, recovery efforts are underway across the region. As part of these efforts, the State Parks team made their way to Chimney Rock on Monday to raise the American flag, symbolizing resilience and hope for the community
In a Facebook post, Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park expressed gratitude, stating:
“In the face of the unimaginable tragedy our region and community are enduring, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our State Parks team for reaching the Rock and proudly raising the flag as a symbol of hope for all of Western North Carolina.”
Local officials and volunteers are working tirelessly to assess the damage, provide assistance to affected residents, and restore access to impacted areas. As the community unites to heal, the flag at Chimney Rock stands as a reminder of strength and determination in the face of adversity.
