Rihanna used her Super Bowl Halftime Show to drop big news: She is expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky. The singer’s rep confirmed the pregnancy shortly after Rihanna’s halftime performance wrapped amid the internet debating whether or not Rihanna had debuted her new baby bump. She and Rocky welcomed their first child, a son, in May 2022. They shared the first video of him in December.

But now it’s official: Rihanna and Rocky will be parents of two soon. Here, all we know about her second pregnancy.

When is Rihanna’s due date?

This is totally unclear at this point. No sources have discussed the due date, and neither she nor Rocky have given that kind of intimate detail yet. While the internet can speculate based off Rihanna’s Super Bowl appearance how far along she is, there’s no concrete fact in it. What is clear, given it was only February when they announced, is that their second baby will have a 2023 birthday.

Did Rihanna and A$AP reveal what sex their second baby will be?

No, and neither have sources. That intel likely won’t be shared until after the baby’s birth. Remember: The couple notably kept their first baby’s sex private.

What have Rihanna and Rocky said about expecting their second child?

Nothing official yet, but Rocky was filmed proudly watching Rihanna during the game when she revealed the news.

What have Rihanna and Rocky said about parenthood?

They both love it.

In January 2023, Rocky told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that life with Rihanna and their son is “heaven.” “It’s so unexplainable. It’s just one of those things,” he said. “I’m a member of our club now, like the dad club. You see a dad, you see me. I’m playing on, I’m a full dad now. Being outside and working and being creative, it drives more energy for you…to think and soak things up like a sponge now that I’m a dad, because I have a whole ‘nother perspective. But it honestly helps you get home to your family and get home to your baby. And I can’t even explain it, man. You come home to heaven every day. I’m so thankful. God is good, man.”

Rihanna, meanwhile, said to Vogue in November that her favorite part of being a mother to her firstborn son is “his smile. He is the happiest baby. No matter what you’re doing or what you’re feeling, when he smiles at you everything else just goes away. It’s the best.”

Did sources say anything about Rihanna and A$AP expanding their family before they announced their second pregnancy?

Yes, as early as late May, just weeks after they welcomed their son on May 13, a source told Us Weekly that they were already thinking about having their second child.

“They want a big family for sure. Rihanna loved being pregnant and fully embraced her pregnancy body,” the source said then. That source added later that it wouldn’t be surprising if she had a second baby “sooner rather than later.”

In November, a source doubled down on that, telling Entertainment Tonight, “Rihanna and A$AP are so in love and have the best time together. They are also a great team when it comes to being parents to their baby boy. Rihanna always dreamed of being a mom and she takes a lot of pride in it. She would love to have more children with A$AP in the future.”

Have Rihanna or A$AP shared anything about what they want to name their second baby?

No, and as of February 2023, they haven’t even shared their first child’s name. Rihanna told the Associated Press in November that they would eventually reveal what they named their first son. “We just didn’t get around to it yet, really,” she said of not sharing his name or any photos of him at the time. “We’ve just been living. But I guess there’s a certain freedom that comes with kind of just like getting it out there,” she said. A month later, Rihanna shared the first video of their first child on her TikTok…without revealing his name.

In any case, it’s likely the public won’t know baby #2’s name until well after their birth.
