On Aug. 3, an Arizona marijuana establishment initiated a voluntary recall of specific marijuana products due to possible contamination with Aspergillus and Salmonella. The table below includes the products, lot numbers, names the product was sold under, and the implicated contaminant.
The Arizona Medical Marijuana Act rules (Arizona Administrative Code R9-17-317.01) and the Smart and Safe Arizona Act rules (Arizona Administrative Code R9-18-311) state that if a product tests positive, the facility may ask the laboratory to send the original sample to a second laboratory. If that second result is negative, then the facility shall request the sample to be sent to a third lab – which is the result that will stand. ADHS has received test results from two separate laboratories for the following products and brands confirming the products are negative for Salmonella respectively.
This announcement was made out of an abundance of caution. The facilities involved took immediate action to verify lab results and the safety of their products. To date, no illnesses have been reported. If you purchased these products, ADHS is issuing this update to ensure patients know these products are free of the contaminants listed below and are safe for consumption.
| Cultivator | Product Name | Batch Number | Product Type | Implicated Contaminant |
