Air Canada in December will inaugurate year-round service between Halifax and Newark, N.J., as well as between Vancouver, B.C., and Houston, the carrier announced Monday.

Air Canada on Dec. 16 is set to begin daily service between Halifax Stanfield International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. The carrier plans to operate one flight daily in each direction using an Air Canada Express De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 in an all-economy-class cabin configuration.

Also set to begin Dec. 16 is the carrier’s daily service between Vancouver International Airport and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Air Canada plans to operate one flight daily in each direction on an Airbus A220 with business-class and economy-class service.

Houston and Newark each are hubs for longtime Air Canada partner United Airlines. The carriers earlier this year proposed to expand their relationship with a new joint business agreement.
