PORTLAND, Oregon — A steady rain Saturday is underway.  As of early this morning, PDX rainfall has topped 1/2″ since Friday afternoon.  Additional valley rain totals could near and inch through the day  Sunday.

There’s a Winter Weather Advisory in the Cascades above 3,500 feet through the day Sunday.  Snow levels will lower to 4,000′ later today.  Sticking snow at pass level is expected Saturday night into Sunday morning.  Accumulations at 5,000′ and higher could reach a foot plus this weekend.

We see a dramatic pattern shift next week.

Wednesday brings a partly sunny sky and highs in the 60s.  Thursday through next weekend should be clear and warm. We’ll make the 70s Thursday and likely be in the 80s Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday.
