Gunfire erupted on the Lower East Side on Saturday night, with a stray bullet wounding a woman seated in a car outside a Belgian chocolate shop on Orchard St., police sources said.
The woman, 28, was in a car in front of Chocolate Dip, a family-owned chocolate dessert shop near Stanton St., just south of Houston St.
A bullet struck the woman’s left arm about 6:52 p.m., said cops. The shooter fled in an SUV, police said.
Medics rushed the woman to Bellevue Hospital, where she was in stable condition, police said.
Investigators believe the woman was not the shooter’s intended target.
A second shooting erupted nearby on Houston St. about 8:30 p.m. No one was hit in that shooting, said police sources.
Cops did not immediately have a description of the shooter or the SUV. No arrests had been made as of Saturday evening.
