Is there a better way to spend the Fourth of July than barbecuing with friends; eating red, white, and blue cheesecake bars; and watching the fireworks? Personally, I can’t think of one. Whether you’re celebrating and need to run out for a last-minute pack of TJ’s hot dog buns or are choosing to do your weekly grocery shop on Tuesday (that’s how it goes when the holiday awkwardly falls midweek!), be sure it’s earlier in the day: Trader Joe’s announced that all stores will be open only until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, so their crew members can head out early to celebrate the holiday.

What does this mean for us loyal, last-minute shoppers? Make your list and check it three times so you don’t find yourself wanting a coveted snack you can only get at Trader Joe’s (looking at you, Artichoke & Jalapeño Dip) right as the stores are closing. Looking for the best marinated meats for your cookout? We ranked our favorites. Or how about a cool treat to beat the heat? Be sure to try out some of the grocer’s new ice creams that just hit the freezer aisle for summer. If you want to throw a sleeper hit on the grill that will wow all your friends, definitely add a pack of Atalanta halloumi cheese to your list.

Regardless of what you’re looking for at the store, make sure you look for it soon. Many of us are looking forward to spending time with friends and family on the Fourth of July — just like the Trader Joe’s employees.
