Pete Davidson charged with reckless driving after crashing into home

Pete Davidson is facing charges of reckless driving, following an incident earlier this year where he crashed his car into a residence in Beverly Hills.

On Friday, roughly three months after the crash took place, the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office officially charged the ‘SNL’ alum with one count of reckless driving, reports TMZ.

Authorities say Davidson and his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, were driving together when the collision occurred late on the night of March 4.

The actor was reportedly exceeding the speed limit, driving a Mercedes on a residential street when he lost control and crashed into someone’s home. It’s not yet clear how Davidson lost control, but sources claim he skipped over the curb and knocked into a fire hydrant in the process.

No one was injured in the crash and no arrests were made. Investigators also say that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.

The homeowner of the property spoke with TMZ and said he has no intention of suing Davidson, but that his 16-year-old daughter was “a bit” traumatized from the incident.

“Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision,” a spokesperson from the DA’s office said. “We know that reckless driving can have devastating consequences.”

“In 2022, traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have reached the highest levels seen in 20 years,” they added. “It’s crucial that we take all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold those responsible accountable.”

Punishments for reckless driving can include up to 90 days in jail, as well as a $1,000 fine and points on an individual’s driver’s license.
