Syracuse street party turned melee injures 13

A melee at a packed Syracuse street party left 13 people either shot, stabbed or hit by cars, police said.

The impromptu shindig drew hundreds via social media and was not officially permitted, police said. High school students, recent grads and college kids home for the summer were reportedly in the crowd when violence broke out early Sunday.

The injured included three males and 10 females aged 17 to 25, police said. A 22-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen, a 17-year-old girl was hit in the hip and midsection, a 20-year-old woman was shot in the right hip and a 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his forearm, according to cops.

Stabbed were a 25-year-old woman, sliced numerous times in the shoulder and midsection, a 17-year-old girl who got cuts in her legs and arm and two people β€” a 19-year-old woman and 17-year-ols boy β€” were cut in the head. A 24-year-old woman suffered cuts to both legs, and those hit by cars had cuts and abrasions, according to police.

Police heard shots fired at 12:22 a.m., Malinowski said in a news release.

β€œThe investigation is very active and ongoing,” he added.
