An 86-year-old Queens man has been arrested for killing his 78-year-old wife, then repositioning the body to make it look like she had fallen down the stairs, police sources said Friday.
Ovidio Porras is facing murder, tampering with physical evidence and criminal contempt charges for killing his wife Luz inside their 91st St. home in Woodhaven on Wednesday, cops said.
Porras struck his wife sending her flying down a flight of stairs around 8:20 p.m., cops said. He then positioned the body in a way to make it appear that she died in the fall, not from his attack, police sources said.
It’s the octogenarian’s first arrest in New York City, cops said.
The couple’s son found his mother at the foot of the stairs and called 911, but cops quickly suspected that the woman’s body had been moved, cops said.
It was not immediately clear what the two were arguing about before
Cops arrested Porras on Thursday night. His arraignment was pending in Queens Criminal Court Friday.
