Prints of photographs used for Madonna’s 1992 “Sex” picture book will be auctioned for the very first time.

The live sale takes place on Oct. 6 at the Christie’s at Rockefeller Center. It consists of more than 40 items from the erotic book containing Madonna’s writing along with images of The Material Girl shot by photographer Steven Meisel.

The book was released at the height of Madonna’s fame, coming out at the same time as her “Erotica” album, which featured the singles “Fever” and “Deeper and Deeper.”

“The much-deserved hype and white-hot energy given off by Madonna in the early 1990s was conveyed and immortalized through Steven Meisel’s photographs,” according to Christie’s Deputy Chairman, International Head of Photographs Darius Himes. “He knew how to capture the allure and sexuality of pop’s reigning queen in a way that was unrivaled.”

A recently launched Instagram account belonging to Meisel promoted the upcoming auction.

“It took us 4 Decades and several Provocative photo shoots to open people’s minds through ART!” read a message posted Thursday.

That post said proceeds from the auction would benefit Madonna’s Raising Malawi initiative, which benefits orphans in southeast Africa. The singer has adopted four children from Malawi: son David, 17; daughter Mercy, 17; and twin girls Stella and Estere, 10.

In 2022, the 30th anniversary of “Sex” was celebrated with an exhibition at Miami’s Art Basel that coincided with a limited edition re-release of the book. A curated selection of photos will be on view the week leading up to the auction at Christie’s. The autographed pictures price between $50,000 and $300,000, according to CNN.

Madonna kicks off “The Celebration Tour” in July lauding four decades of music. That tour includes four shows at Madison Square Garden beginning Aug. 23.
