Body of Brooklyn man murdered by brother found in Connecticut park after three-month search: cops

The missing-for-months body of a Brooklyn man police say was killed by his brother has been found buried in a shallow grave in a Connecticut park.

A passerby spotted a foot jutting from the ground in Mohegan Park in Norwich on May. 7, leading to the discovery of the body of Martin Wright, 44.

After Wright’s brother McMillian Wright was arrested for murder on April 20, Starasia Perez, 27, the victim’s daughter, pleaded for her uncle to reveal the location of the body.

“If we could speak to him, I would tell him like, ‘Please, just tell the truth,’” she told the Daily News. “You know, give us all the closure we need … Everyone deserves a proper burial. Everyone deserves it and that’s all we need.”

Detectives in Norwich worked with the NYPD to identify the body. Martin Wright had been shot in the head, according to Norwich Police Lt. Christopher Merrill.

Authorities believe the murder happened on Jan. 28 in the family’s apartment on Monroe St. near Patchen Ave. After killing his brother, McMillian Wright, 45, called another man, Craig Smith, 43, to help get rid of the body, authorities say.

The two men carried the body into a car and drove it to another Brooklyn address to hide it for a while, then loaded it into a U-Haul and went to Connecticut, a law enforcement source told the Daily News last month.

Police learned about the killing on Feb. 7, when a 27-year-old woman walked into the 81st Precinct stationhouse in Bedford-Stuyvesant to tell them what she knew.

Ten days after that, Martin Wright was listed as missing and presumed dead as police launched a homicide investigation.

Authorities believe the murder happened on Jan. 28 in the family’s apartment on Monroe St. near Patchen Ave.

McMillian Wright was busted March 27 in Binghamton, N.Y., for possessing a handgun and several grams of crack and extradited back to Brooklyn last month to face an indictment on murder and other charges. He remains held without bail and returns to Brooklyn Supreme Court June 14.

Smith was arrested April 13 on evidence tampering and concealment of a human corpse charges, accused of helping “remove the deceased victim who had been murdered,” according to court documents. He remains free without bail.
