It’s not been pretty as CBE wrtier Tom Hymes points out.

Not really surprising if you have somebody called Boris Johnson leading the gang !

Here’s the introduction

In the aftermath of the decision by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) to rescind its previous vote denying the renewal of adult-use licenses to the industry’s largest MSO – an about-face one could see coming a mile away – Curaleaf CEO Matt Darin and Chairman Boris Johnson issued a public proclamation declaring a decisive victory over a vanquished enemy, as if they had just stormed the beach at Normandy. Even in victory, however, their celebratory comments could barely contain the contempt they still have for the CRC.

“Curaleaf Holdings, Inc., a leading international provider of consumer cannabis products, today announced that today, Monday, April 17th, the Board of the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory (CRC) reversed itself and voted to approve Curaleaf’s adult use cannabis licenses,” declared the company, that repetitious use of “today” highlighting the magnitude of the event and the date.

“Today’s decision by the CRC Board to vacate their unprecedented action last week is an incredible victory for our 500 NJ team members and vindication for what we knew all along: Curaleaf is in good standing with the CRC and has fulfilled every requirement necessary for the renewal of our licenses,” said Darin. “I am incredibly proud of and grateful to every one of the hundreds of dedicated team members who showed up today, not just for their jobs and livelihoods, but for a better, safer cannabis industry in New Jersey.”

The last comment refers to the public protest of the initial vote by Curaleaf employees that included expletive-laden union-bashing but also expressions of support for the CRC that stopped short of backing the vote to deny renewal of the licenses and the anticipated loss of jobs as a result.
