The Buckeyes landed a big commitment to their 2024 recruiting class on Saturday with the verbal pledge of Max LeBlanc. The four-star prospect out of Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor is a big-time playmaker and an ideal fit for head coach Ryan Day and Ohio State’s high-powered offense.

At 6-foot-5, 225-pounds, LeBlanc is already more than comfortable lining up out wide and using his combination of size, speed, and impressive hands to make plays in space and be a key contributor in a high-powered offense at the high school level. LeBlanc is also skilled blocker in the run game, runs crisp routes and knows how to use his frame to either shield off opposing defensive backs or go up and high-point the ball.

During his junior campaign, LeBlanc hauled in 39 catches for 695 yards and three touchdowns while leading his team to a 11-2 season and DII-AAA state title.

Ohio State appears to be taking two tight ends in this year’s class and the Buckeyes couldn’t have asked for a better start, landing the No. 17 prospect at that position in the country. Buckeyes tight ends coach Keenan Bailey keyed in on LeBlanc at the beginning of the year, extending an offer back on January 24th. For LeBlanc, it was a dream come true, as the Canadian-born prospect grew up rooting for Ohio State and his recent visit to Columbus helped seal the deal.

LeBlanc’s final four also consisted of Michigan, Tennessee, and North Carolina, but his total offer list included nearly 30 total with Alabama, Penn State, Stanford, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and others also on the list.
