The nation—heck, the planet, the galaxy—could use a little good news right now. Luckily, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are ready to provide us with the brightness and joy we all require.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the comedy duo cleared their throats and, to a drumroll, announced that the long-awaited sequel to the 1997 cinematic triumph Good Burger is, indeed, in the works!

“Welcome to Good Burger, Home of the Good Burger—PART TWO!!!” Mitchell shouted, as he and his comrade-in-condiments leaped from the late-night couch to shrieks and huzzahs. Eager to bask in the celebration, Jimmy Fallon emerged from behind his desk to join the victory lap.

“It’s a blessing, it’s unbelievable,” Thompson, now the longest-running cast member in Saturday Night Live history, said. “We’re going to shoot it this summer.”

“We won. The people have spoken,” Fallon added.

Kenan and Kel then reminisced about meeting at the age of 14 to work on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All That, particularly amused that they clicked with the characters “Mavis and Clavis,” in which the two kids impersonated geriatrics.

Mitchell added that he gets reminded about Good Burger at any restaurant he attends. “It could be 5-star, it could be drive-thru.” No complaints, though, because it leads to free burgers.

Thompson teased the movie a smidge. He said there would be “hijinks” and called out to “anyone famous” if they wanted to make a cameo. Fallon was quick to sign up.

The appearance ended with a nostalgia-rich musical number.

As Fallon pointed out, Kenan and Kel appeared in a Good Burger reunion some years ago on The Tonight Show, to great fan delight. “Spicy Chicken Wrap” or “Spicy Chicken RAP”? Har har har.
