South Korean carrier Korean Air beginning mid-March will increase service to China after the two countries this month agreed to restore the number of flights between them to pre-pandemic levels, the carrier announced Friday.

Total flights per week between South Korea and China will increase to 84 by the end of March, up from 13, and then to 99 come May, according to Korean Air.

Resumed routes include flights between South Korea’s Incheon International Airport and Beijing to four times weekly as of March 19 and to eight times weeks as of May 1, and between Incheon and Xian two times weekly as of March 19 and seven times weekly as of May 1. The Incheon-Shenzhen route will resume March 26 with four weekly flights and increase to seven by May 1. Routes between Incheon and Yanji will resume March 26 with seven times weekly service, and to Xiamen by May 2 with three times weekly flights. 

Beginning March 26, routes between South Korea’s Gimpo International Airport and each Beijing and Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport will resume with seven weekly flights.

Korean Air also will increase the following routes from Incheon: Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport with seven times weekly service by March 19 and 14 times weekly service by March 26; Guangzhou, Qingdao, Shenyang and Dalian, each with seven times weekly service by March 26; Tianjin with four times weekly service by March 26 and seven times weekly service by May 1; and Nanjing, with four times weekly service beginning March 26, according to the carrier.
