Harry Potter artifacts on display inside MoPOP’s ‘Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic’ exhibition

Muggles visiting MoPOP are invited to browse new artifacts on display from the wizarding world of Harry Potter, which can now be found inside the museum’s Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic exhibition.

Installed recently were a few items used in films from the series, including: Harry Potter’s hero wand (2001-2011; Private Collection); the glasses worn by Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter (courtesy of Aaron Kybartus); a clapperboard used in production of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001; Private Collection); and a Wanted poster for Sirius Black from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004; Private Collection).

The artifacts come to MoPOP ahead of International Harry Potter Day, celebrated annually May 2 to honor a date The Battle of Hogwarts was fought. The clash marked the end of the Second Wizarding War and death of the Potterverse’s primary antagonist, Lord Voldemort.
