A St. Vincent nurse is facing two charges related to cocaine with a street value of EC$1.8 million (One EC dollar=US$0.37 cents).

Magistrate Rechanne Browne Friday adjourned the case until Monday next week.

Lucresha Nanton, 35, pleaded guilty at the Serious Offences Court to the possession charge. However, she pleaded not guilty to possession of the drug for the purpose of drug trafficking.

It is reported that on January 22, 2022, she had in her possession 59,939 grams of cocaine with intent to supply.

The prosecutor told the Magistrate’s Court that it needed some time to decide how to proceed as regards to the not guilty plea.

The state also disclosed that it had received a document from the defense counsel Ronald “Ronnie” Marks and had not been able to properly examine the document.

Chief Magistrate Browne adjourned the matter to Monday and allowed the nurse to remain on bail.
