[ad_1]

November domestic roundtrip airfares declined about 3.5 percent from October levels to $558, according to Airlines Reporting Corp., the first such month-over-month decline since August.

The November 2022 fare is up from $464 one year prior.

November ARC-accredited travel agency air ticket sales totaled more than $6.5 billion, up 46 percent year over year but down 11 percent from October 2022 levels. ARC suggested the month-over-month decline was seasonal.

“While November’s travel demand was stronger than last year, we are seeing the seasonally expected month-over-month decrease in sales and passenger trips,” ARC chief commercial officer Steve Solomon said in a statement. Total passenger trips settled by ARC declined 8 percent month over month, with U.S. domestic trips down 11 percent and international trips down 4 percent.

Year over year, November 2022 trips increased 14 percent, with U.S. domestic trips up 5 percent and international trips up 32 percent.

Trips sold by U.S. travel agencies whose primary business model is managed corporate or government travel increased nearly 39 percent year over year.

November electronic miscellaneous document sales, which include fees for such ancillary products as upgraded seats and checked bags, increased 81 percent year over year but declined nearly 6 percent month over month to $15.7 million. November EMD transactions 54 percent year over year to nearly 258,000, representing a 9 percent month-over-month decline.
