MPD arrests 2 suspects involved in fatal shooting on Minnesota Avenue

Two men face charges of premeditated first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Aaron Brown in D.C.

WASHINGTON — Police have arrested two people in connection with a fatal shooting in Northeast D.C. 

Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, police responded to the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue, NE, for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a victim in the alleyway suffering from a gunshot wound.  

D.C. Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where, despite all life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Aaron Brown, a resident of Laurel, Md.

According to police, on Thursday, July 23, authorities arrested 25-year-old Abdoulie Jawneh of Southeast, D.C. Jawneh was transported to the Homicide Branch, where he was charged with premeditated first-degree murder while armed.

Then, on Friday, July 24, 23-year-old Daniel Foxworth of Suitland, Md., was arrested. Foxworth was also charged with first-degree murder while armed.
