Police in Woodbridge are searching for a suspect who allegedly pulled out a gun and falsely claimed to be an officer.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police are looking for a suspect who pulls out his gun at victims and claims to be an officer in Woodbridge.
On Sunday, officers responded to the area of Dale Boulevard and Forestdale Avenue in Woodbridge to investigate a report of a brandishing incident that happened around 9 p.m.
The investigation showed that a 25-year-old man was driving on Dale Boulevard when he was approached by a man. During their exchange, the suspect displayed a gun, claimed to be a police officer and asked for a ride. The victim left the area before reporting the incident. Police did not say if the victim was in his car when he was approached by the man.
In a separate incident, a 21-year-old man reported that at 9:06 p.m. on the same day, an unknown man brandished a gun toward him in the area of Darbydale Avenue and Dale Boulevard. Police did not say what led up to the unknown man approaching the 21-year-old.
No injuries were reported, and no shots were fired in either encounter.
The suspect was described as a male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches, wearing a dark-colored hat, dark-colored shirt with a white shirt underneath, and dark-colored shorts.
