Volusia County Beach Safety confirmed Friday night that it was searching for a missing swimmer in Daytona Beach. The swimmer went missing around 7:30 p.m. from a stretch of beach between 300 S. Beach Street and International Speedway Boulevard, a Volusia County Beach Safety spokesperson said in a statement to WESH 2 News. So far, about 18 lifeguards have been doing a line search, with the U.S. Coast Guard set to respond as well, the spokesperson said.
