[2026.6 Update] The new welcome offer is 100k: earn 45,000 Wyndham Points after spending $1,000 within the first 90 days, plus another 55,000 Wyndham Points after spending $500 at Wyndham within the first 180 days. Given the structure of this offer, it is only suitable for people who already plan to make Wyndham purchases. The benefits on this card have also been refreshed:
- The annual fee has increased from $75 to $95.
- The annual points bonus has increased from 7,500 points to 15,000 points.
- Previously, cardholders received complimentary Platinum status. Now, new cardholders receive Diamond status for the first year, and then Platinum status as long as they keep the card.
- New benefit: earn one Free Night Award worth up to 15k points after staying 5 nights at Wyndham within a calendar year.
- New benefit: $50 meal delivery credit, split into $25 every six months.
- The earning structure has been adjusted: gas has been removed from the 6x categories, while travel has been added to the 4x categories.
Although the annual fee has increased, the annual points bonus has also increased. As a result, if you actually stay at Wyndham frequently, these annual bonus points may be enough to directly offset the annual fee.
Note that the annual fee and benefits for existing cardholders remain unchanged for now. The changes above only apply to new cardholders.

- Wyndham points are valued around 0.7 cents/point (Hotel Points Value), and the redemption structure is very simple with only three tiers of redemption: 7.5k/15k/30k points. So the 100k highest welcome offer is worth about $700.
- [New] Earn 6 points per $1 spent on eligible purchases made at Hotels By Wyndham; Earn 4 points per $1 spent on eligible Vacation Club, travel, dining and grocery store purchases (excluding Target and Walmart); Earn 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases (excluding Vacation Club down payments).

- [New] Automatically receive a Wyndham Rewards DIAMOND member level during your first year. After that, become a Wyndham Rewards PLATINUM member.
- [New] Enjoy a free night worth up to 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points after you stay 5 or more nights in a calendar year.
- [New] $50 Meal Delivery Credit. Enjoy up to $25 in statement credits back every 6 months on eligible meal delivery purchases when you pay with your card—up to $50 each calendar year.
- Cardmember discount for Wyndham paid stays.
- No foreign transaction fee.
Disadvantages
- [New] $95 annual fee, NOT waived for the first year.
- The free night is typically not worth a lot since most Wyndham hotels are not very expensive.
- Note that Wyndham points expire after 18 months for inactivity, and expire after 4 years no matter what. Therefore it is not a good idea to accumulate a lot of Wyndham points if you don’t plan to stay in Wyndham in the near future.
Recommended Application Time
- Barclays value the number of recent hard pulls a lot, we recommend you apply when you have less than 6 hard pulls in the past 6 months.
- [6/24 rule] Similar to Chase 5/24 rule, Barclays will reject your application if you have 6 or more new accounts in the past 24 months. Note that this is a soft rule for Barclays.
- We recommend you apply for this card after you have a credit history of at least one year.
Summary
The welcome offer is quite valuable. After the June 2026 refresh, the annual fee increased, but the annual points bonus also increased. As a result, if you actually stay at Wyndham frequently, these annual bonus points may be enough to directly offset the annual fee. That said, I am not sure how many of our readers are Wyndham enthusiasts. If you do not want to keep this card long term, you can consider downgrading to the no-annual-fee card Barclays Wyndham Earner.
