Fire near Altamont Pass in the East Bay burns 22 acres

Firefighters in the East Bay made quick work stopping a fire from spreading along the Altamont Pass.

It broke out shortly before one this afternoon, along 580 near Grant Line Road. Cal Fire said flames scorched about 22 acres, and as of 7 p.m., it is 60% contained.

Fire crews are still there putting hot spots out.

The cause is under investigation.
