Cockpit breached onboard Delta Airlines flight out of Hobby Airport, Houston police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston police confirm that the cockpit was nearly breached on a flight that was grounded at William P. Hobby Airport early Wednesday morning.

The Houston Police Department said officers were dispatched regarding an issue on board a flight.

ABC13’s SkyEye flew over the runway, where a Delta AirLines aircraft was parked at Gate 32, with multiple police cars surrounding it.

Details on why the cockpit was breached or who caused it remain unclear at this time.

According to Hobby’s flight tracker, a plane with the same tail number was set to depart for Atlanta, Georgia, at 5:30 a.m. Flight tracking information shows that the plane returned to Hobby shortly after takeoff.

ABC13 continues to monitor this developing story and will update as more information becomes available.
