Officials say the shooting stems from an arrest warrant relating to an escalating domestic-related situation.
WHITE PLAINS, Md. — The Maryland Attorney General is investigating after Charles County sheriff’s personnel shot and killed a person in White Plains on Wednesday afternoon.
According to officials, two officers shot the person when they were trying to serve an arrest warrant stemming from a domestic situation that was escalating in the area of Newport Circle and Cobbler Place.
“This occurred within a neighborhood under construction, and the scene is isolated,” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.
No officers were hurt in the shooting.
Neither the officers nor the person they shot has been identified.
Prosecutors are investigating the incident in accordance with state law.
