Melanie C Channels Scandinavian Pop Excellence on New Single ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong?’ – Culture Fix

Melanie C is having a Robyn moment on her latest single What Could Possibly Go Wrong? The slinky electronic dance track is a synth-laden treat that showcases the former Spice Girl’s penchant for exploring new sounds. The track is the second single from Mel’s upcoming album Sweat, which arrives on May 1st, following the self-titled lead single.

The Swedish influence is clear and, unsurprisingly, Melanie recorded the track in Stockholm, joined by collaborators Klas Åhlund and Nea. The musician revealed: “We had a lot of fun working on this song and discussing the light and shade of music and life. It’s a tongue-in-cheek look at taking risks and trusting yourself to take that leap anyway. I think a lot of people will relate!”

The club-friendly track fits the vibe of the album, with Melanie sharing: “I’ve done a lot of soul-searching. Now I just want to have some fun and get people dancing again.” Inspired by dancefloor-centred nostalgia, Melanie C adds: “When we were young every weekend we’d go out dancing all night long,” she recalls. “In a room of friendly strangers we found the place where we belong.”
