Hilary Duff delighted with her pop return following the brilliantly received Mature, with her upcoming studio album Luck… Or Something set to follow on February 20. Hilary now gives us the next taste of the eagerly awaited album with Roommates, a powerful track that many thirty-somethings will find deeply relatable.
The US star shared: “Roommates is a song about when life is life-ing, babe. It’s that ache for a wilder, freer time, before the days were swallowed by carpools, budget talks, grocery runs, and letting old or new insecurities slip in. It’s the restless hum of wanting to find your way back, to your rhythm, to your person, to yourself.”
Hilary unveils a refreshingly honest lyricism and relatability in her writing here, with the song another fruitful result of her sessions with husband Matthew Koma and Brian Phillips, both of whom also produce the track.
