An arrest has been made in a shooting that occurred last month in Whistle Stop Park, according to the Edgewater Police Department. Investigators say a 17-year-old has been arrested for his role in the shooting on Dec. 21, saying the teen was the one responsible for discharging the firearm during the incident.The 17-year-old is charged with discharging a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle and violating probation. “There is no excuse for this senseless crime. Violence will never be tolerated in our community, and bringing it into a public park is inexcusable. EPD detectives worked relentlessly to bring this case to a resolution, and we remain committed to holding offenders accountable,” said EPD in a statement.
