On Tuesday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened Saturday, in the 8300 block of Vistadale Drive. Deputies received a call of a reported shooting in the area.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found 21-year-old Adam Pineda with apparent gunshot wounds as he sat in the driver’s seat of his truck, stopped in the roadway. EMS responded to the area, but Pineda was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses described at least four young men, of unknown age and race, wearing dark clothes and masks as the suspects. They reportedly ran away from the scene on foot.

As the investigation continues into the case, detectives suspect robbery as the possible motive behind Pineda’s killing. Authorities are asking people with any information regarding the case to call the homicide unit at 713-274-9100 or Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
