3 dead, 2 hospitalized after north Sacramento crash

Three people were killed and two others were taken to the hospital after a crash on Northgate Boulevard and Del Paso Boulevard, police say.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Three people were killed and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash at a North Sacramento intersection Saturday, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Police said the crash happened after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in the area of Northgate Boulevard and Del Paso Boulevard. 

When officers arrived, they found two vehicles involved in the crash. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving measures. Three people were taken to the hospital. 

Of three people taken to the hospital, one was pronounced dead. The other two people are receiving medical treatment and their condition is unknown. 

Police did not say what led up to the crash. 

The incident remains under investigation. 

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin is notified. 

The crash led to closures on Northgate Boulevard and Del Paso Boulevard. Officers will remain on scene for several hours.
