Mi Vida closes its 14th Street location

A representative for Mi Vida told WUSA9 the restaurant closed its doors on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON — A popular restaurant in D.C. closed suddenly this week. Mi Vida, a Mexican restaurant with multiple locations, closed the doors of its 14th Street location for good on Wednesday. A representative for the restaurant confirmed the closure by phone.

The Logan Circle location opened in 2022, making a splash with its flashy pink exterior design. Chef Roberto Santibañez’s other locations remain open, including its flagship location at the Wharf, Penn Quarter, Virginia Beach and Philadelphia.

It is not clear what led to the closure. However, it comes at the tail end of a tough year for D.C.’s dining scene.

A record number of D.C. restaurants closed in 2025, according to a report from the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, as owners grapple with rising costs, higher wages, and mounting labor uncertainty.

The report shows 92 restaurants across the District were closed as of November, a record, continuing a year-over-year increase in closures. Industry leaders point to inflation, minimum wage hikes, and recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity as key pressures squeezing already thin margins.
