(KRON) — The Fairfield Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on Christmas Eve.
FPD said a gunshot wound victim was dropped off at NorthBay Hospital at 12:56 p.m.
“Fairfield Police officers responded and initiated an investigation, determining the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Cottonwood Drive,” FPD confirmed in a news release.
Police said the victim succumbed to the injuries Wednesday evening.
There is no ongoing threat to the community, according to Fairfield police.
This remains an active investigation.
FPD said no further details are being provided at this time.
