FAIRFIELD, Calif. — The Fairfield Police Department is investigating a shooting after a man with a gunshot wound was dropped off at a hospital and later died Wednesday.
Police said the man arrived at NorthBay Medical Center shortly before 1 p.m. Officers responded to the hospital and began an investigation, determining the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Cottonwood Drive.
The man later died from his injuries.
Police did not provide additional details about the circumstances of the shooting. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and there is no threat to the public.
