A woman about to board a flight to London from Miami International Airport was arrested Monday after authorities found more than 65 pounds of marijuana in her suitcases, according to an arrest report.
Begum Mulazimoglu, 22, was supposed to be a passenger on a Virgin Atlantic flight to London International Airport, authorities said.
But while selecting suitcases for outbound inspection, a Customs and Border Patrol officer detected “a strong odor of marijuana coming from (2) hard-sided suitcases, one brown and one black color.”
Baggage tags on both identified the luggage as belonging to Mulazimoglu, the arrest report states.
The brown suitcase, authorities said, was “filled with black nylon vacuum sealed packages that were emitting a strong odor of marijuana.”
Officers found a total of 60 bundles of marijuana inside the bags, and an x-ray revealed two Apple trackers, “one for each luggage concealed inside a bundle.” Officers also said a green, leafy substance tested positive for marijuana.
