Warren Buffett’s 56 Best Quotes for Business Leaders (One for Each Year as CEO of Berkshire)

Warren Buffett, age 95, is the longest-serving CEO of a publicly traded company in the United States. Now he’s stepping down, with Greg Abel set to take over on January 1.

In honor of that remarkable here are 56 of Buffett’s best quotes, one for each year he served as CEO. I’ve done my best to rank them in order from good to great, and to end with the single piece of advice that might matter most.

Let me know if you agree with the order.

1. “Develop your eccentricities when young.”

2. “I buy expensive suits. They just look cheap on me.”

3. “You may think this odd, but I have kept copies of every tax return I filed, starting with the return for 1944.”

4. “I can do anything I want, basically, as long as it doesn’t involve athletic ability.”
