DC achieves a new Guinness World Record as 1,435 couples kiss under the National Mistletoe.
WASHINGTON — DC did it. After weeks of anticipation, the National Kiss Under the National Mistletoe event broke the Guinness World Record for more couples kissing under the mistletoe in a single venue.
According to the DowntownDC Business Improvement District, 1435 couples simultaneously kissed for five seconds under the National Mistletoe.
The National Mistletoe is a 10-foot installation featuring greenery, blooms, ribbons, and a jingle bell suspended 330 feet in the air in Anthem Row.
The previous record was 480 couples. That event was held by Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis, Mo. In 2019.
