A security guard is in the hospital after being struck by a pickup truck in Folsom. The suspect was arrested and faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide
FOLSOM, Calif. — A security guard was seriously injured after they were struck by a truck that also ran into a business overnight, according to police.
At about 12:30 a.m., Folsom Police responded to calls of a pickup truck that had backed into a business near 600 Sutter Street. The suspect fled the scene, and the business’s security guards chased him on foot.
The security guards later found the truck and police said the driver turned the truck into one of the security guards, then backed up and ran them over again. The security guard was taken to the hospital with major injuries; however, police said he is expected to survive.
Police later located the suspect at his house. 40-year-old Zachary Pavan of Citrus Heights was arrested and charged on suspicion of attempted homicide, suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony hit and run. Investigators obtained a search warrant for his house, which was served to collect evidence.
