ROSEVILLE, Calif. — A woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing almost $23,000 worth of merchandise from a Roseville shopping center on Thanksgiving.
Roseville police officers responded around 10 p.m. to a shopping center on the 1800 block of Douglas Boulevard after an emergency alarm sounded at a Famous Footwear store.
Arriving officers made contact with a woman who was near a broken window at a TJ Maxx in the same shopping center. The woman, identified as Christina Bemis, 34, was detained as officers investigated the scene.
Bemis allegedly broke into the TJ Maxx and stole a little under $23K worth of primarily clothing and jewelry, according to police.
The police also allege that Bemis broke into Famous Footwear and stole a $90 pair of shoes.
Officials say Bemis was booked into the Placer County Main Jail and is facing multiple burglary and vandalism-related charges.
