2-year-old falls from 6th-floor of apartment in College Park

The child is expected to be OK after falling six stories.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — A 2-year-old was taken to an area hospital after falling from a sixth-floor unit in College Park on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department, the toddler fell from a “multi-family dwelling” in the 9300 block of Cherry Hill Road shortly before 1 p.m.

Officials have not released a lot of details at this time, but the Prince George’s County Police Department said the 2-year-old was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive.

This is a developing story. More details will be added as they become available.

This is the second time in less than four months that a child has fallen from a 6th-floor unit in the same area. In August, a 3-year-old boy was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling.
