The men accused of orchestrating an armed home invasion at a Davenport Airbnb that ended with gunfire have been identified and arrested, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. A group of men forced their way into an Airbnb in Davenport, armed with several guns, OCSO said.The armed invasion took place at 988 Leader St. on Nov. 5.The victim, a juvenile female, told law enforcement that a group of men got out of a vehicle carrying various types of guns.She told officers the suspects were dressed in black and wearing ski masks. According to OCSO, the victim was forced inside the residence at gunpoint, and the group of home invaders entered the house.An altercation occurred, and property was forcibly taken from the victim, OCSO said.Shots were fired, and the suspects, along with everyone inside the home, fled the scene. Officers noted several pistol and rifle casings scattered around the outside of the residence. Inside, bullet holes could be seen in the walls, and the rear sliding glass door had been shattered.”There was like an old wild, wild west shoot out inside the house,” said Sheriff Christopher Blackmon, “and miraculously, nobody was shot, nobody was injured, a lot of damage to the house.” Devante Elijah Joseph, 21, and Markel Ja’Marion Bailey, 20, were the first two suspects to be arrested. They were found in the vicinity of the crime as officers were canvassing and booked into the Osceola County Jail.Both were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied dwelling, grand theft, armed robbery with a firearm and criminal mischief.Over the next two weeks, OCSO identified and located the other suspects involved.With the help of the Florida Highway Patrol and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, two additional suspects were arrested in Orange County off Woodbury Road on Monday. Alvan Dimy Civil, 22, and Jaiquan Darius Hill, 20, were arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail. Another suspect was arrested while riding in a vehicle in Orange County on Tuesday. Ronnall Lachasta Jr., 20, was arrested and booked into the Orange County jail. Sheriff Blackmon told WESH 2 his deputies have stepped up patrols in the popular tourist area with a lot of short-term rentals because he said they’ve had several calls recently for home invasions.”So, I would say to any tourists who are down in that area, be careful,” he said. “You know you’re in Florida and you’re on vacation, stay alert. Stay vigilant, and to the people that live there, if you see something out of the norm, say something, let us know.”The sheriff also said his detectives are investigating whether the five men arrested could be suspects in the other home invasions in Champions Gate.
