1 killed, another hospitalized following burglary in west Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — One person was killed, another was injured, and two people are in custody following a burglary in west Houston, the Houston Police Department said.

Investigators said they responded to a burglary-in-progress call on the 4000 block of Essex Lane on Thursday morning.

Officers with HPD’s Homicide unit said that when officers arrived, they found one person dead and another critically injured. They added that two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.

Detectives said a homicide investigation is underway.
